After a distinguished career spanning over a decade at MONTAG Wealth Management, Benjamin S. Harris, CFA, is retiring, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication to his clients and a profound impact on the firm’s culture.
Ben joined MONTAG in 2013, bringing with him years of experience in wealth management and a deep commitment to building meaningful client relationships. At MONTAG, he focused on managing portfolios for individuals, families, and institutions, always prioritizing trust and personal connections in his work.
Beyond his professional expertise, Ben’s approach to client relationships set him apart. He believed that trust was the cornerstone of any successful partnership. As he often said, “I have to earn their trust first. Once I have earned it, then it is all about the relationship. But you have to build the trust first.”
Reflecting on his decision to join MONTAG, Ben shared, “All of my friends were here. They all came here; and that spoke for itself. The people who I respected ended up here. That told me all I needed to know.” This sentiment underscores the firm’s collaborative environment and the mutual respect among its professionals.
Ben’s contributions have not gone unnoticed by MONTAG’s leadership. Ned Montag, CEO, remarked, “Ben’s dedication to his clients and his unwavering commitment to building trust have been impressive. His approach has not only benefited his clients but has also set a standard within our firm. Finally, one of the most endearing qualities of Ben Harris was his always tuned-in sense of humor.” John Montag, President and Chief Investment Officer, added, “Ben’s genuine care for his clients has made a lasting impact on our firm. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence will undoubtedly endure.”
Beyond his professional achievements, Ben is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He and his wife, Lisa, have two grown daughters and share a passion for travel. An avid golfer and jazz enthusiast, Ben has also contributed to the cultural community as a former board member of Jazz Orchestra Atlanta.
As Ben embarks on this new chapter, the MONTAG family extends its deepest gratitude for his years of service and wishes him a retirement filled with the same passion and joy he brought to his work. His legacy of trust, relationship-building, and dedication will continue to inspire both colleagues and clients alike.
